Winter Family Rides

Announcing 4 winter family short rides.

The rides will use some of the expanding Chesterfield Cycle Network so will be mainly traffic free but with occasional 'traffic light' sections. The rides will always have a Brampton Bicycle Club coach present but they are purely a social family ride. All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them at all times.

12th November - Holmebrook Hipper triangular ride.

10th December - Explore the Stonegravels Way to Whittington Moor and back.

14th January - Holmebrook Valley Park lake and back.

No ride in Feb because of half term.

11th March - Route to be confirmed.

Meet in the car park next to the old Queen's Park Sports Centre to leave at 11.00am.

Session cancelled

Sorry we had to cancel the final evening session of 2016. Just too dark which the coaches feel is a safety issue.

Club Sessions

Our final evening session of 2016 will be on Thursday October 20th at 6.00pm. Due to lack of light we may have to finish slightly early!

Club Sessions

30 children came along to our session on 6th October. One group from Old Hall are practicing for the school games cycling competition!
We are hoping for enough light for our last two sessions of this year.

We're planning some family rides through the winter, details to follow.

Club Starting 22nd September

We will finally get started this Thursday 22nd September. Usual times 6.30pm to 7.30pm at the back of Old Hall School.

We are still wanting more adults to help out and ultimately be trained as coaches, if you are interested please let us know.

Autumn Sessions

Sorry to announce but we are going to have to delay starting sessions. In a nutshell we only have 3 regular coaches, one of them has other sporting commitments and we can't always guarantee 2 which coaches present. It is a British Cycling requirement that the max ration per coach is 1:15 which might not be possible.

So we really need more helpers to run the sessions!

We would also like to know what the attendees want to get out of a session. Ideally we would work out a one year programme with goals at the end or maybe a badge system when a level or task that we set has been achieved. We feel we lack direction and focus but we also know that some come along just because they like riding bikes and we don't want to put those people off because we like riding bikes too!

Club sessions have finished for this academic year. Our next session should be Thursday 8th September.

Due to an event at Old Hall School this weeks's session (July 14th) will be cancelled.

Our first club night at Old Hall School went well.

New Venue

Following the problem we had at Holmebrook Valley Park last week we are now going to meet at Old Hall School on Old Road on the first three Thursdays of each month during term time.
So our first meeting there is tomorrow 12th May at 6.30pm. Hope to see you there!

Club Dates

Thanks to those children and parents who came to our meeting at Monkey Park last week. Following that we have now put together a calendar of club dates and we are just awaiting confirmation of our booking the car park at Holmebrook Valley Park from Chesterfield Borough Council.
Assuming that goes ahead we will start this years sessions next Thursday May 5th.
